Frequently Asked Questions
About the Bisbee Hatchet House Experience

1. Is Axe throwing safe?
Yes. Our staff are trained experts in teaching anyone and everyone who comes through the door to throw safely before they are handed an axe. We work closely with our insurance and staff to create the safest space and experience in Bisbee.
2. What are the hours at the Bisbee Hatchet House?
We’re open anytime for reservations–book online or email us to reserve a space for your party. Our walk-in hours are Thursday and Sunday 2pm-7pm (or last reservation), and 2pm-9pm on Fridays & Saturdays. We also offer Locals Night on Mondays from 7-9pm.
3. What are your prices for axe-throwing in Bisbee?
Our rates:
$30 per person – per hour
Credit card deposits are required to make a reservation. (Please see our refund policy below). Parties of 5 or more people are recommended to reserve multiple bays (if available) or extend their time to 1.5 hours, in order to allow enough time for everyone to have a few turns.
Parties of 1-4 people are suggested to reserve a single axe-throwing bay for one hour.
4. What should I wear to The Bisbee Hatchet House?
Axe throwing is an active experience and a comfortable one. Only closed-toe shoes are allowed for safety reasons, so please wear boots or sneakers. We suggest wearing comfy clothes you can move in, such as jeans and a T-shirt, a long-sleeved cotton shirt, or flannel.
We do offer clogs for rental if you forget your closed-toe shoes during your visit–but these are limited. Please wear your closed shoes when you arrive.
5. Where are you located?
Find us at 34B Brewery Ave in Old Bisbee, right next to St. Elmo’s Bar in “The Gulch” and across the way from Old Bisbee Brewing Company.
6. Do we need to make reservations?
Yes. We highly recommend contacting us ahead of time for reservations. Our intimate space only contains 4 hatchet-throwing bays and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. When you book ahead with us, we save the bay(s) for your reservation and schedule larger parties or events for a different date & time. Book online or email us at info@bisbeehatchethouse.com for availability and to reserve your spot.
Please note that due to the high demand for the use of our space, refunds will not be provided for deposits so please plan accordingly. Please see our cancellation policy below.
7. What’s your cancellation policy?
Due to the high demand for our space, refunds will not be provided for missed reservations. If you need to cancel due to changes in travel plans, for example, please contact us at least 48 hours before your scheduled time so we can attempt to rebook you.
8. What time should we arrive? What if our party is running late for our reservation?
Please plan on arriving 15 minutes early for your reserved time, in order to start your session on time. Every person will be required to sign in, pay, and sign a separate liability waiver before your party can begin. If your party is more than 10 minutes late, your lane may be forfeited. Please note that if you are running late, we may have to reschedule your party for a future time, as we are often unable to extend your reservation–it may cut into the time of the next party who reserved the lane for the hour after you.
9. How many people can throw at a time?
Our bays hold up to 6 people–but for parties of 5 or more, you may need a reservation of at least 1.5 hours. Parties of 7 or more people will need to reserve 2 bays and split the group into two parties.
10. Are children allowed?
Yes, we are a kid-friendly space for kids ages 10 and up. There must be 1 supervising adult for every 3 children, and each child (ages 10+) must have a parent fill out a liability waiver in person before they can participate.
11. Is Alcohol served at Bisbee Hatchet House?
Yes–please order from our drink menu during your visit, as we offer a variety of beer & wine to purchase during your axe throwing adventure with us.
Please note that any person who appears intoxicated or impaired when they arrive at The Bisbee Hatchet House will not be allowed to enter, and we will provide you with a future credit for any deposits paid. For optimal safety and insurance reasons, anybody who appears to be drunk or high will be asked to leave and come back for a future visit. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
12. Are we allowed to bring food and drinks while we play?
We do sell drinks & snacks here at BHH–please check with our employees before bringing in outside food or drink. Non-alcoholic drinks and food are usually allowed.
13. What safety precautions do you have in place?
We sanitize all areas & hatchets between every rental session and have hand sanitizer available upon request. All throwing is supervised by our employees, who serve as both teachers and guides the entire time you throw.
14. Can we book your space for large parties or corporate events?
Yes, please email us at info@bisbeehatchethouse.com for more information about these kinds of inquiries with the tagline: corporate event, wedding, or large party. We look forward to planning your event with you!
