Our Mission
We created the Bisbee Hatchet house to combine the eccentric and historical spirit of the old west with axe throwing in our local space. Our goal is to bring more Bisbee history to town visitors and provide a space for people to come together in the community and connect. Nowhere else will you find a hatchet house like ours–with the quirks, characteristics, and stories that you’ll only find here in “The Gulch” of Old Bisbee.

About our axe house
Safety and knowledge are at the roots of our hatchet house. As soon as you walk in the door, you’ll feel like you’re learning hatchet-throwing from an old friend. Everyone is a local here in Bisbee.
Much like bowling or archery, axe throwing is a point-centered game that connects you to the historic trades and pastimes of our ancestors. It’s competitive and fun–don’t let the idea of throwing a blade intimidate you. Our space was designed with safety at the top of our list. Our employees are expert teachers and guides here to help you learn this new and exciting game.

Our History
We opened our space in 2022, and are locally owned. We have a deep connection to the community and Bisbee’s eccentric history. Our space is designed to bring the history and vibe of Old Bisbee to life, and to bring people together in ways they used to before the invention of technology. Give us a try and we promise–you’ll notice the Bisbee Hatchet House difference!

“The hatchet. The key to it all. Nothing without the hatchet.”
— Gary Paulsen, “The Hatchet”
